Defence interest
PA Wellington More than 180 New Zealand companies have shown interest in a Ministry of Defence seminar on defence supply, to be held next month.
The president of the Manufacturers’ Federation, Mr Keith Tyrrell, said the Government’s new defence policies could mean a stimulation of New Zealand industry. “In a small, way, the need for strengthening the country’s own defence resources could provide some spin-off for our technology similar to that of the space and defence programmes of larger countries,” he said.
