German skating stars for Chch
Martin Hass and Andrea Steudte, roller skating’s version of the world ice skating idols, Torvill and Dean, will give an unexpected performance in Christchurch next Tuesday. The recently-married German couple won the world roller-skating dance title at the world championships in Italy last year. They had not planned to perform in Christ-
church during their whirlwind tour of Australia and New Zealand, but a last-minute change of circumstances had meant that they would appear at the Rollerland skating rink in Wainoni Road next Tuesday evening, a spokesman for the New Zealand Federation of Roller-Skating has said. It is the first time that Hass and Steudte have visited New Zealand.
