Live sheep exports

Sir, — To D. T. Archbold, of Cheviot (“The Press,” February 5) I wish to say that two wrongs

do not make a right. While nobody condones the leaving of sheep unattended in the yards while workers walk out, the man responsible for the severe suffering of hundreds of sheep which subsequently died in distress receives a prestigious award because he gave farmers “a profitable return.” I find many farmers’ callous attitude of money above compassion and morals very frightening. —

Yours, etc., M. MAYER. February 5, 1986.
