Govt seeks education nominations

PA Wellington The Government is inviting nominations for | the Women’s Advisory Committee on Education, which will replace the former National Advisory Committee on Women and Education.

Last year, the Minister of Education, Mr Marshall, wrote to 27 national organisations inviting them to make nominations for him to consider jointly with the Minister of Women’s Affairs, Mrs Hercus.

The Ministers said appointees would not represent any one organisation. They would be selected on their individual backgrounds and interests and on the contribution they could make to the committee. The committee will comprise up to nine Ministerial appointees with one nominee from the Ministry of Women’s Affairs and a representative of the Education Department. Nominations will close at the end of this month.
