No live coverage

PA Wellington Television New Zealand will not screen live coverage of the World Series Cup cricket finals between Australia and India later this month. A spokesman for TVNZ sports said that one hour highlights packages of the three one-day finals had been secured and would be shown during the Australian cricket team’s tour of New Zealand.

Brief satellite reports on each match will also

be shown on evening news bulletins. “If New Zealand was involved, we would have shown the whole thing,” the spokesman said. “However, it has never been our policy to show live coverage of matches in Australia between two teams other than New Zealand. “The exception was the world championship final last year when all seven test-playing nations had been involved in the build-up.”
