Sea rescue

A Norwegian cruise ship has rescued six shipwreck victims who had drifted in a liferaft for two days after their cargo vessel sank off the Atlantic Portuguese island of Madeira. The Black Prince picked up the four crew members and two passengers who were aboard the Portuguese container carrier Zara after the raft was located by Portuguese rescue service planes and boats. The 230-ton Zara sank in heavy seas during its regular 31-mile voyage between Maderia and the island of Porto Santo. — Funchal, Madeira.
