Dogs on beaches
Sir, —Baden Norris is sadly astray in his criticism of M. McGoldrick. I travel to Sumner on more than 300 days each year, and frequently see more dogs than people wandering the streets and beach, neither of them on a leash. I believe it is Baden Norris who has the myopic view of dogs, bursting into print in their favour. I like them too, in the country; but not when they poo in and around my city property. Let us register the owners, as with firearms. — Yours, etc., LLOYD HABGOOD. February 1, 1986.
Sir, —Last week I visited Corsair Bay with my four grandchildren and their great-grand-mother. A really beautiful day so close to Christchurch was spoilt by dogs’ litter everywhere. Surely people should be made to look after their pets properly. — Yours, etc., JOAN BARNES. January 30, 1986.
