Twins to play later
PA Auckland The rock band Thompson Twins left Auckland for Brisbane on Saturday after both their New Zealand concerts had been cancelled because of rain. A concert in Christchurch was called off on January 25, as was another on Saturday at Mount Smart Stadium, Auckland.
For Alannah Currie, an expatriate New Zealander and the band's percussionist, the return home has been full of surprises. “I just thought it would be fine here,” said Ms Currie, aged 27. The show’s promoter, Mr Chris Cole, said he expected the Thompson Twins to return for a show on February 14.
