Migraine ruins Coney’s plan
NZPA Launceston The New Zealand skipper, Jeremy Coney, was struck by a migraine headache which destroyed s New Zealand's battle plan of a fast-scor-.. ing start against India in the World Series Cup cricket match yesterday. Coney was left numb, dazed and suffering from nausea soon after the match started. He had planned to open the batting with Bruce Edgar but spent much of the Indian innings reeling - from the effects-of the . headache.
“That was the reason I left the field. I get them about three or four times a year,” he said. "My fingers" were numb, "my -vision was --fuzzy.-and I couldn’t feel my nose, or part of my cheek. _ “I had lines shooting across and up and down the eyes resulting in split vision,” he said. Coney wished India all the best for the finals and said Kapil Dev’s troops ..had not reached their -.potential; r Match report, back page
