Hijackers jailed
Two Syrians who forced a Lufthansa plane to land in Vienna, armed only with airline cutlery and a broken bottle, were jailed for five years on charges of hijacking. They had pleaded guilty in the Vienna court to charges of air piracy and kidnapping the 33 passengers and eight crew on a flight from Frankfurt to Damascus.—Vienna.
