N.Z. in cricket cup tourney
PA Wellington New Zealand will send a full strength side to the inaugural Australasia Cup cricket tournament at Shahjah in the United Arab Emirates in April. The Cricket Council chairman, Mr Bob Vance, confirming New
Zealand’s participation, said the side would be selected and announced after the forthcoming home test series against Australia. New Zealand will join Australia, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the
tournament which carries $209,000 in prizemoney. The winner will receive $78,000 and the runner-up $57,000. Mr Vance said the tournament would not, clash ufith any domestic series.
