Two to appear for depositions
Two men will appear in the District Court in Rangiora on April 22 for the taking of depositions on a charge of wilfully setting fire to a Kaiapoi house on January 1. The charge of arson against Mark Alan Seddon, aged 18, unemployed, and Geoffrey Llewellyn David Gordon, aged 22, was yesterday laid indictably. Both had entered no pleas to the charge at a previous appearance. They are represented by Mr E. Bedo. Seddon pleaded guilty before Judge Hattaway to two unrelated charges of
stealing a television set and one of intentionally damaging a window. Both offences were committed in Dunedin in December. He was convicted and remanded to March 27 for a probation report and sentence. Seddon will also appear for a defended hearing on a charge of assault on the same date. Gordon also pleaded not guilty to a charge of assault and was remanded to March 26. On a charge of failing to stop for a police patrol, he was fined $5O and on a charge of driving without a licence he was fined $25.
