Action option seen for traffic officers
Traffic officers may take industrial action if their attempts to retain traditional parity with the police in coming wage negotiations fail. Their pay talks will begin on February 10. The president of the Public Services Association, Mr Colin Hicks, said he would not be surprised
if traffic officers were prepared to back their claim with industrial action, as had the police.
Traffic officers were at the front of law enforcement and risked assault, he said.
“If there is a case for the police then there is a comparable case for the traffic officers.”
