FUTURES PCPs firmer
The prime commercial paper (PCP) contract was firmer yesterday, with buying interest coming into the market, said Dr Brent Layton, the spokesperson for Marshall Futures.
One Auckland broker appeared to be very confident that interest rates would fall.
The wool futures market was easier as export houses kept a close watch on physical market and sellers concentrated on what the New Zealand dollar might do. The United States dollar contract followed closely the movement of the Kiwi dollar during the day. Selling in the Kiwi dollar overnight in New York and London, saw traders position-taking early on the futures market before' buying- interest came in as the New Zealand dollar went up, Dr Layton said.
