Nine for distance titles

A team of nine has been named to represent Canterbury in the New Zealand women’s 5000 m and men’s 10,000 m championships at Wellington on Saturday. Thelen’s 10,000 m contingent includes the defending title-holder, Peter

Renner, and the Commonwealth Games contender, Dave Burridge. Two of those chosen for the women’s 5000 m, Mary O’Connor and Wendy Renner, claimed the first two places in the Tjfcw Zealand women’s 10,000 m championship last season.
