Roundabouts
Sir, —I believe the time has come for Christchurch drivers to be instructed in how to use roundabouts. These valuable traffic aids are great if used properly. Drivers must be reminded not to stop before entry unless traffic is on their right, to indicate their intentions before entry, and before leaving to turn their indicator off manually so that all others can see their intended movements. Up until now the M.O.T. has concentrated on many aspects of driver education, and I feel the time is now ripe for some official help in the use of roundabouts. — Yours, etc.,
C. D. BATES. January 26, 1986.
