Growth slows
The United States economy grew at an annual rate of 2.4 per cent in the fourth quarter of 1985, down sharply from the previous estimate of 3.2 per,cent, the United States Commerce Department said today. This reduced the department’s figure for growth in the economy during 1985 to 2.3 per cent from a previ-. ous estimate of 2.4 per cent In 1984 the U.S. economy expanded by 6.6 per cent The Consumer Price Index Increased 3.8 per cent in 1985, compared with 4.0 per cent in 1984. • ,
