Buchanan top surfer

The Christchurch surfer, lan Buchanan, has won the national surfing championship for the fourth year in succession. Buchanan, the only professional surfer in New Zealand beat a strong field to retain his title at Piha Beach, Auckland, recently. He fared best in the four to five foot surf with strong north-easterly winds, to win from Erin Saunders, of Bay of Plenty, and Mark Foley, of Auckland.
