By
STEVE WILSON
Swannee Hobbs and Genuine Honey enhanced their prospects for the Canterbury Futurity Stakes at Queen Elizabeth II Park on February 4 when they quinellaed the Ladies Bracelet (530 m feature event at the Ashburton County Greymouth Racing Club's meeting at Chertsey yesterday. The Ray Adcock-trained Swannee Hobbs was forced to take a wide path at the first comer, but was soon trailing the leaders, Laurel’s Best and Amelia. Straightening up for the run home she applied the pressure and came on for a length victory over Genuine Honey, which finished well to .take second off Amelia. V Genuine Honey proved that her five length victory at Queen Elizabeth II Park on
Thursday evening was no fluke, and The Fawn TigerLa Key-Toe bitch continues to impress after a string of good performances. Lucky Lynette was an all-the-way winner of the Maiden Stakes when she held out the strong finishing run of Mystic Lord and Tanya Two. She should improve with the run and looks likely to make a top sprinter. She recorded 17.42 s for the 295 m. Other winners were: Wimborne Lady (CO; 530 m; 32.735), Jamie Hobbs (Cl; 530 m; 31.465), Dancer Dan (C2; 530 m; 31.665), Streaking Kilty (C 3 and C 4; 530 m; 31.355), Ouroola (Cl; 295 m; 17.435), Victor Borg (C2; 295 m; 17.81 s), Roaming Lou (C2; 295 m; 17.205), Licorice Mint (C 3 295 m; 17.435), Stylish Cossack (C 4 and C 5; 295 m; 17.135).
