12,500 submissions
PA Wellihgton About 12,500 submissions had been received on the Government’s review of the school curriculum, said the curriculum review committee yesterday. The closing date for the Look at Learning in Schools Review is January 31, and Ms Janet Kerr, a member of the secretariat for the committee, said submissions should continue to arrive steadily until then. Ms Kerr said the committee had expected numbers to dwindle at this stage, but the opposite
had happened. A burst of replies had come from particular organisations. The committee was impressed with the quality of the submissions which covered a wide range of opinions, Ms Kerr said. After January 31, the committee would prepare a report which would be released for further public discussion in the middle of the year, she said. A final report would be prepared for the Minister of Education, Mr Marshall, by the end of the year.
