“The market closed on a firmer note, with several leaders recovering their recent falls,” said Mr Tony Norbert-Munns, operating partner with Egden Wignal and Company, Christchurch sharebroker. “BIL rose 8c to 698, NZ Marine 5 to 135, NZ Salmon 25c to 695, R. and W. Hellaby 8c to 248.” Turnovers are not excessive and the market feeling is for a similar trend next week. “Recent take-over activity for parcels of shares has helped turnover but this will slow next week.
