Blockade broken

NZPA-Reuter London The British police broke a blockade yesterday by women peace protesters at the Greenham Common air base timed to coincide with American Independence day. About 150 police officers dragged 40 women from one of the main entrances to Greenham Common, 80km west of London, to allow 16 coaches taking 300 building workers through. The police said that there had been no arrests and the women later regrouped to resume their blockade, which began at dawn. The women said that they would maintain it until Friday. The workers are building six shelters for 24 launch vehicles designed to fire 96 cruise missiles that will begin to be deployed at Greenham
