Valuers’ head from Timaru
A Timaru man, Mr R. M. Donaldson, has been elected president of the New Zealand Institute of Valuers.
Mr Donaldson, who had been a vice-president of the institute for four years, succeeds Mr R. M. Gough, of Auckland.
Since joining the Valuation Department in 1954, Mr Donaldson has worked as a valuer in several North Island centres and Timaru. He was appointed the department’s district valuer for Timaru in 1968, and has represented South Canterbury on the institute’s 15member council since 1977. Mr Donaldson became a registered valuer in 1958 and achieved fellowship status within the institute in 1975.
Mr G. J. Horsley, of Wellington, and Mr R. E. Hallinan, of Christchurch, have become the institute’s new vice-presidents. Mr/Hallinan has worked with the Valuation Department in Invercargill and Christchurch and 1 is an associate member of the institute.
