Lewis now ninth
NZPA-Reuter Paris Chris Lewis’s performance at the Wimbledon tournament has pushed him into the top 10 in the Grand Prix tennis standings. The standings, issued yesterday, show the New Zealander in ninth place with 576 points, with John McEnroe of the
United States, who beat Lewis in the Wimbledon final, moved up from seventh to fourth place with 1220 points. France’s Yannick Noah, the winner of the French Open last month, still leads with 1528 followed by the Swede Mats Wilander (1366) and Ivan Lendl, of Czechoslovakia (1241).
