Decision soon on pool
A decision on the development of the Jellie Park Lido pool will be made by the waimairi District Council on Monday evening. A proposal to build a water slide at the pool had caused a lot of public interest and about 20 objections had been received, said a council spokesman yesterday. The council has been given the authority to raise
a loan for the water slide, but has yet to decide whether it should go ahead with the proposal. The council's chairman, Mr D. B. Rich, said the issue would be resolved on Monday evening, either at a meeting of the works, reserves and traffic committee or, if the committee could not reach a decision, at an emergency council meeting at 8.30 p.m.
