Launching of new vessel
PA Wellington The first of the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve’s new vessels, H.M.N.Z.S. Moa, will be launched at Whangarei on July 16, the Navy said yesterday. The 28m craft will be launched by Mrs Lin Sauli,
wife of a former Chief of Naval Staff, Rear-Admiral K. M. Sauli. The Moa will be allocated to the Otago unit. Her three sister ships, H.M.N.Z.S. Wakakura, Kiwi, and Hinau, are expected to be launched at six-monthly intervals.
