June weather in Christchurch was fairly normal with temperatures, rainfall, and sunshine all only slightly above average. The mean temperature for the month was 6.7 deg. During the month 17 frosts were recorded in the city and 20 at the airport. The heaviest frosts were s.ldeg. in the city on June 17 and 6.6 deg. at the airport on June 25. Rainfall for the month was 70mm, the heaviest fall being on June 9, with 24mm in the city and 22mm at the airport. The strongest wind gust was 50 knots from the south-west, recorded on June 17.
