Rape claim dropped
PA Auckland A woman who said she was raped by two men who forced her car off the road has withdrawn her complaint, but the police said yesterday they were determined to bring her attackers to justice. The police are disturbed, that she refuses to co-oper-ate in inquiries. “It reduces our chances of catching them ... but this
was a very serious offence and we are determined to get these two men off the streets,” said Detective P. L. Robinson. A guard rail stopped the woman’s car from plunging 5m into Cox Bay on Thursday. She was dragged to a black car and raped by each of the men as the other drove. She was pushed out of the car in Point Chevalier, badly shaken and with torn clothing and abrasions.
