Industrial problems
Sir,— Unfortunately for the theory of Stephen R. Richens (June 27) who in criticising City Council labourers for their courage in holding a token strike on behalf of their less fortunate fellow workers and the under-privileged, considers the council labourers are not thinking correctly. New Zealanders as a whole are equally at fault when with much ease a telethon can raise millions of excess dollars from those who, in a feeling of pity and charity, prove beyond doubt their pockets and bank accounts are still too full, and all too worthy of the next interesting Budget. — Yours, etc., ISABEL WITTY. June 27, 1983.
