The Amazing Micro-Mouse, an example of artificial intelligence, is explained to the chairman of the Canterbury-Westland Science Fair organising committee, Mr Alex Houliston, by Clayton Gumbell, aged 17, of Riccarton High School. Clayton Gumbell and Phillip Dodds shared the best-in-show award at the fair with Dwane Gidall, Rodney Fuller, James Swanson and Yang Peng Tay, all of Shirley Boys’ High School. Their exhibit showed leaf folding in lupins. The fair will end on Friday evening.
