IBM buys PABX firm

After its purchase of a 10 per cent share of Intel Corporation in a deal worth SUSIOOM, IBM has moved to buy 15 per cent of the stock of Rolm Corporation, an American manufacturer of PABX telephone systems.

This latest deal will cost IBM SUS22BM. The two companies expect then to be able to work closely at providing greater compatibility and standardisation between IBM’s computer equipment and Rolm’s digital PABX systems.
