Peake on 110

PA Wellington David Peake has edged ahead of his rival, Jim Cassidy, in the contest for the racing season’s top jockey. The pair were level on 107 winning rides after Wednesday’s Egmont meeting. However Peake rode two winners at Pukekohe on Friday and another at Tauranga on Saturday, to push his score to 110. Cassidy, who failed to come home first either at Pukekohe Friday or Hastings on Saturday, remains on 107. Greg Childs lies third in the premiership, with 74 winners.
