R.N.Z.A.F. comes 12th
PA Wellington A Royal New Zealand Air force Hercules finished twelfth over all out of 34 contestants in a United States Air Force tactical transport competition in North Carolina. The Hercules, captained by Squadron Leader Murray
Sinclair, was also placed seventh out of 25 in the overseas Air Forces taking part. ; The competition entailed navigation accuracy, splitsecond air-drop timing for personnel and supplies, tactical landings on short airstrips, and aircraft maintenance procedures.
