The proposed research programme will involve the identification, isolation and cloning of plant genes of agricultural and industrial Importance. The successful applicant would be expected to have, or to have, the potential to develop skills in the area of the isolation of plant DNA and RNA, synthesis of copy DNA and cloning. The Technical Services Manager will assist with the maintenance of the present system and will monitor hardware and software performance and conduct in-depth audits with the objective of optimising resource utilisation.
