Buses to proclaim peace

Sir,—l read with interest (“The Press,” June 22) that Christchurch buses will carry peace motifs to such places as Waimairi whose people are not taken in by nuclear free zones. As the design of the motif will probably display a dove of peace, may I suggest it be surmounted by a hammer and sickle. As to the inscription below, since Stalin’s dictum that war is not necessary if the capitalist countries are willing to surrender is too long, I suggest “Peace on Moscow’s terms.” The good citizens of greater Christchurch will then know what the future holds in store for them.— Yours, etc., H. F. NEWMAN. Blenheim, June 22, 1983.
