Superannuation benefit
' Sir, — Mr Muldoon’s votecatching monster, the National Super, scheme,is out, of control/’One su'ggestidn is to pfiit retiring age back to 62 years; if this is implemented, Mr Muldoon can count on thousands of very angry people. The obvious answer is to cut the pension from people on a working wage, or salary,’ or income above a certain level. After all, pensions are usually for retirement purposes. If people are required to work till 62 years there will be fewer jobs for school leavers. What a selfish, dollar-dominated, sick society we have, one that will eventually destroy itself. — Yours, etc. W. FOOT. February 26, 1982.
