Full programme?
New Zealand’s international cricket programme, which until recently looked rather barren in the next few years, may become almost a full book, if the New Zealand Board of Control has success in all its negotiations. Next season New Zealand will go to Australia to play in a triangular limited-over contest with Australia and England. Sri Lanka may tour Australia that season, and if it does, the team will come on to New Zealand. It is possible that while it is in Australia, New Zealand will play one test match, and
it is also being debated whether Australia could come to New Zealand for one test match* the same season. The chairman of the board, Bob Vance, will go to Australia tomorrow to talk with the Australian Board of Control. In 1983, New Zealand will go to England to play in the World Cup limited-over competition, then stay on for a half-season tour with three test matches. New Zealand has had a tentative invitation to play in India and Pakistan on the way home.
