C.F.M. lamb pools above schedules

The Canterbury Frozen Meat Company, Ltd, has announced - the results. of its 1980-81 killing pools and for all lamb pools the results have been in excess of the export schedule prices. The results for the lamb pools are (average of al 1 grades): October-December pool, plus $1.41 a head compared with the schedule; January-February, plus $2.30; March-April,' plus $2.77; May to the end’ of season, being finalised at the moment but expected to be better than schedule.' • ' . The results of the mutton pools were: October-January, plus 66c a head compared with the schedule; February,

plus $1.49; March, plus 13c; April to the end of season, minus $1.94. The results of the beef pools were: October-Decem-ber, minus $32.88 per head compared with the schedule; January-March, plus $1.51; April to the end of season, minus $5.93. The livestock manager of C.F.M., Mr N. G. Cornelius, said that the above prices ; were averages and that individual farmers could have different results according to the percentages of stock in various grades. The total numbers of stock put through the C.F.M. pools during the year were: lamb, 1,084,890; mutton 214,728; and /beef, 11,305 head.
