Support for collective

The Christchurch Unemployment Collective has been given observer status at monthly meetings of the Canterbury Trades Council, the body which represents trade unions in Canterbury. The council has also decided to liaise closely with the collective and to support it by whatever means are necessary. The collective has hired premises in Cashel Street near the Bridge of Remembrance. It is the umbrella organisation for the Rights Centre, Crafts Alternative, • and Christchurch Unemployed and Temporary Workers’ Union.
