S.I. moto-cross team
A strong team of moto-cross riders has been selected to represent the South Island in its annual match against the North Island. The competition will be staged near Paraparaumu on March 14. Last year, for the first time in about 25 years, the South Island won the competition. Phil Morgan (Christchurch). 250 cu cm: Moston Wadsworth (Blenheim), Mike Thompson (Blenheim), Warren Timpson (Christchurch), Brent Daniels (Christchurch), Paul Nicholls (Nelson), Tony Sherratt (Christchurch), Gordon Park (Palmerston). 500 cu cm: Marty Maclntyre (Gore), Stephen Oliver (Christchurch), Robert Hampton (Christchurch), Andrew Rangi (Nelson), Rob Selby (Christchurch), Nick Mackenzie (Gore), David Johnson (Christchurch).
