Superannuation benefit
Sir,—lt is alarming to know that our Government’s revenue keeps on falling short of the tax budget in the region of hundreds of millions of dollars, year after year. We are plainly insolvent and only severe and austere economic changes in our way of life will avert disaster. Reduced wages, including the National Superannuation (a 3 per cent cut is moderate) would help considerably, improve our balance of payments overseas and bring down inflation. In this way none would be the loser because, ultimately, less money would buy more goods. —
Yours, etc., A. DELHANTY February 26, 1982.
