Basketball honour
Jeanette Howard, the young New Zealand basketball star, has not been slow in accumulating representative honours in Australia since moving there late last year.
Selected for the New South Wales junior basketball team for the Australian inter-state championships, Miss Howard will now have to forgo that honour to play for the senior team. The two tournaments are both scheduled for the middle of June. The senior championships
are being held tn Perth, while the juniors will play in Newcastle.
Miss Howard has been in outstanding form for the top Sydney side, Manly-Warringa, since she left New Zealand. Now 19, she was only 18 when picked to represent tills country against Australia last season, and it is rumoured that she may consider becoming a naturalised Australian in order to play for that country.
