Mr McNulty elected

The former national secretary of the Meat Workers’ Union, Mr F. E. McNulty, has been elected secretary Of the Wellington, Taranaki, Nelson, Westland, and Canterbury Ice Cream and Related Products Union.

Mr McNulty won an election ballot against a Wellington unionist, Mr G. Fraser, by 114 votes to 19, with 14 informal. One hundred and eighty voting papers were sent to members. Mr McNulty had been acting secretary, after the resignation of Mr F. B. Thorn.

Mr McNulty was formerly secretary of the Canterbury Trades Council, which he still represents on the national council of the Federation of Labour and the Canterbury Regional Employment Advisory Committee.
