$9.5M flood damage
Wellington reporter New Zealand suffered record flood damage of $9.5M to its roads during 1978-79. The National Roads Board has begun a review of its methods of subsidising or paying for flood damage. The Assistant Director of
Reading (Mr R B. Fisher) I said $6.5M of this cost had now been charged to the : board. There were not more : floods, but they seemed to be becoming heavier, with more occurring tn built-up 1 areas, he said.
