Relaxing at Paradise
My wife and I have been fortunate to have spent two holidays in Fiji. From the moment we stepped off the plane at Nandi our whole world changed on this warm tropical island. Everywhere we went we were greeted by smiling Fijians calling “Bula Bula” (Hello or Welcome). The next day we were driven in an air-conditioned mini coach to Paradise Point, halfway between Nandi and Suva.
The name of this resort speaks for itself. There’s plenty to do here — water polo, volley ball, horse riding, snorkelling, just to name a few. At night you can dance to Fijian music, or just sit and relax sipping cool drinks. One of the real highlights of our holiday was an invitation to a Fijian couple's engagement at the local village. To eat ! Fijian food is a real treat i and to partake in the kava ■
drinking ceremony, a rare experience. When our two holidays in Fiji came to an end we were genuinely sad to leave such wonderful people. But we will be back again this year. Sa Moce-Moce ((Goodbye) —H. D. BENNETT, 128 King St. Rangiora.
