Reports from China suggest the Chinese leadership may have convened a meeting in Peking to review political and economic developments in that country., A check of Chinese provincial broadcasts, monitored in Hong Kong, has disclosed the sudden absence of all top party leaders from provincial meetings the last 10 days. China analysts in Hong Kong believe the agenda of the latest meeting includes a review of China’s economic programmes. which have been slowed down, somewhat from ambitious goals announced earlier. — Hong Kong. One of the richest men in the United States, T. Cullen Davis, an industrialist, has been ordered to pay a SUS3.3M divorce settlement. He also faces charges that he tried to murder his wife and that he murdered his wife’s boyfriend in their luxury mansion. He has been acquitted of murdering his wife’s daughter by another marriage, who died in the same incident. Davis is also alleged to have hired a gunman to kill one of several judges who presided over his five-year-long divorce trial.—Fort Worth (Texas).
