Agricultural travel
PA Wellington Six agricultural scientists have been given grants by the Trimble Agricultural Research Fund to enable them to ;ravel overseas this year. The scientists, five from the Ministry of Agricul:ure and Fisheries and one from the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, were selected rom 21 applicants. Grants totalling $17,000 lave been given to them >y the research fund’s rustees. Dr Peter Rattray and Dr ’imothy Trigg, nutrition cientists at Ruakura, will
holism symposium in the United Kingdom, while a Ruakura soil and field scientist, Mr Michael O’Connor, will visit the United Kingdom and Europe for study purposes. Dr Michael Dunbier, of the D.S.LR.’s Crop Research Division, will travel to the United States, and Dr Roger Stoker, an irrigation scientist at Winchmore, will spend six months in Canada. A soil chemistry and fertility expert, Mr John Grigg, of the Invermay Agricultural Research Centre, will travel to the United States to visit soil research institutes.
