Mt Cook road handed over
Wellington reporter The final kilometre of road on State Highway No. 80 into Mount Cook National Park at the Hermitage has been handed Over to the National Parks Authority by the National Roads Board. A new terminal point for the road 70 metres to the west of the Kitchener
Stream bridge had been gazetted. Once the Parks Authority as assumed ownership it will be responsible for all maintenance and costs on this stretch of road. The relocation of ownership by the board has awaited the completion of the new access roads to the front Of the Hermitage and the front of Glencoe Lodge.
