Family enthusiasm

One of the most enthusiastic entrants in “The Press” Part-to-Park fun run this year is John Smart, shown running with his wife, Judy, and son, Harlam aged seven. This is understandable in that Mr Smart was last year’s winner of the “lucky dip” for the Air New Zealand trip for two to the Sydney City-to-Surf run associated each year with the Park-to-Park event.

John Smart and his family are now enthusiastic runners as a result of the trip to Sydney. “The Press” and Air New Zealand trip to the Sydney City-to-Surf run was the high point of his short running career, Mr Smart said. He had enjoyed the accommodation at the Koala Oxford Square which went with his winning of the trip to Sydney. The winner of this

year’s trip for two will also enjoy accommodation at the Koala. Like many others who use the Park-to-Park run as a stepping stone to new adventures, Mr Smart is now a member of a registered club. He and his wife will receive a free T-shirt each and a free entry each for the Park-to-Park run, which will begin at Sydenham Park on Sunday, May 6.
