Two on motor-cycle killed
Nelson reporter A motor-cyclist and his pillion passenger were killed in a head-on collision with a heavy truck on the Lee Valley Road, Nelson, yesterday. They were Christopher Eric Smith, aged 27, of 323 Hill Street, Richmond, who was killed instantly; and Karen Lynette Page, aged 19, of the same address, who died in an ambulance on the way to the Nelson Hospital. The accident occurred at 3.45 p.m. on the Lee Valley Road behind Brightwater, about 24km from Nelson.
